The Electrical Technologist is responsible for proactively developing design packages and testing electrical equipment, analyzing electrical systems to identify and troubleshoot hazards, defects or required adjustments, understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and overseeing the installation, documentation and testing activities. This critical role works collaboratively with the electrical engineering team and other cross functional areas using established engineering programs and applications/software to perform, maintain, update and support the engineering goals, objectives and deliverables. This position reports to the Principal of Engineering

Hours of work, Location and Schedule:
This position’s normal hours of work is from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST. Even though we do provide flex hours of 7:00am-3:30pm if preferred.
- This role will be mostly on-site at 1333 Dugald Road in Winnipeg.
- Currently this job will be based and work out of the Winnipeg office; however, may be asked to travel occasionally to the north or other province sites as business and operational needs dictate.

Experience:
- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
- Electrical Design: 1 year (preferred)
- Microsoft Office 365
- Experience in programming industrial automation systems, such as Allen Bradley controllers, FactoryTalk View (Machine Edition and Site Edition), Schneider controllers, Citect SCADA, Vijeo Citect HMI applications, and Wonderware AVEVA InTouch HMI.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and topologies, such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and others, with the ability to integrate and troubleshoot these systems effectively. An understanding of complex process control networks, including ring systems and their integration, is also an asset.
- One to three years’ experience in electrical design
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SKM, wiring schematics design and preferably.

- Creates appropriate drawings and instructions for wiring.
- Generates technical documentation for use within the company and/or with vendors

- Designing, electrical equipment and systems, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Preparing specifications for electrical components and materials as needed including AMPS management and customer approval.
- Analyzing electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Working with electrical engineering use computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform, update and support engineering deliverables
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of an Electrical Technology Diploma, Certificate or equivalent relevant experience and related education is required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years relevant related experience required.
- UL508A experience and/or related training would be an asset.
- SKM or related computer application experience would be nice to have, however not mandatory.
- The successful incumbent is required to complete and pass a satisfactory Police Criminal Reference Check as a condition of continued employment.
